Press Club board members present: Hugh Aynesworth, Jason Philyaw, Michael Patterson, Jeff Whittington,
John Browning, Arnold Jones, David Dunnigan, JoAnn Holt, Durhl Caussey, Tony Pederson

Absent: Tom Stewart, Janet Ragland, Deborah Marine, Tony Fay, Bob Morrison, Mark Willis

The meeting was called to order by Hugh Aynesworth
Philyaw apologies for not having meetings of April meeting
Aynesworth announced Janet Ragland resignation from the board. Philyaw moved to accept the resignation with regret with a second from JoAnn Holt motion passes
Philyaw tasked with sending Janet flowers and thank you card for her all her hard work and dedication to the PC during an extremely tumultuous year for her personally, as well as for the club
Holt moves to offer spot to Lola Howle with a second from Aynesworth motion passes

Aynesworth informs board that PC Foundation board voted 4-3 not to fund Katie Awards for 2008
Discussion ensues on possibility of staging Katies regardless, by paring down event to 200-300 attendees, holding it at 6th Floor Museum and securing sponsors independently of PCF board

Durhl Caussey provides an update on the club’s finances, stating the club has no outstanding debts for the first time in a while, and new-member dues continue to come in

Rich Kinney of YourWebGuys provides a presentation to the board about enhancements to PC Web site, including costs and possible services provided
Jones moves to hire Mr. Kinney at $799.95 one-time fee and $59.95 monthly maintenance fee with a second from Browning the motion passes

Holt discusses possible roast of Fairmont Hotel maitre d’ Tomas Comata?

Browning discusses lawsuit with Lakewood Theatre saying we have opposition, as Mr. Lee has hired a Dallas defense lawyer and John has asked for discovery and expect the trial to be at a later date

Pederson offers SMU office for next meeting Tuesday June 17 at noon

Whittington moves to adjourn with a second from Dunnigan motion passes
